The Material & The Process

Creating pet portraits is an incredibly gratifying experience. Witnessing the joy and excitement when someone receives their personalized piece is truly amazing! If you're interested, please take a moment to review the information below and reach out to initiate the process:

Timing:

I typically aim to complete pieces of approximately A3 size within 6-8 weeks. Please bear in mind that I have a full-time job, so the timeframe is contingent on work commitments. Smaller pieces generally have a shorter turnaround.

Pricing:

The cost is determined by factors such as the image size, paper, materials used, complexity, and composition. A general pricing guide can be found below.

Deposit:

A 20% deposit is required for any commissioned piece.

Photo Requirements:

For optimal results, the photos provided for creating the artwork must be of high quality, with a resolution that allows for clear detailing, especially in fur direction and eyes.

Progress Updates:

I'll keep you informed with progress updates throughout the creative process. However, I'll refrain from posting on social media if the artwork is intended as a gift for someone else. Feel free to get in touch, and let's get the ball rolling on your unique pet portrait!

Dimensions in CM:

  • A4 (30X21): £245

  • A3 (41X30): £395

  • Other sizes please contact me

For pieces featuring more than one animal, I will provide a custom quote based on the above prices, adjusted according to the number of animals.

I'm open to working with sizes smaller or larger than those listed above, so if your desired size isn't included, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm happy to accommodate your budget.

Payment:

A 20% deposit is required upfront, with the final payment due upon completion and your satisfaction with the finished piece.

Framing:

Framing is available at an additional cost through a local framing company that can cater to your preferences. Alternatively, your piece can be provided for just as it is or with a simple mount.

Postage:

Postage is an additional expense, and you will be informed of this before finalizing your payment.

Remember, the higher the quality of the photos you provide, the better the quality of the finished portrait will be! Feel free to contact me with any inquiries or to discuss your commission further.

Image Quality

It is all in the eyes and the quality of the photo. The better the photo the better the image will be.

The first photo shown below is the perfect image quality to work from, the direction of the fur can be seen clearly, the eyes are clear and the expression is also near perfect to be captured.

The second photo has great expression and captures the dogs personality, the photo is too blurry to work from. The detail needs to be such that it is as crisp as possible.

Bad Quality

When selecting a photo for your portrait, it's essential to consider the pose and composition. Action shots with lots of movement may result in some blurriness, making them potentially more challenging to replicate accurately.

In contrast, photos capturing pure expression without excessive movement tend to be easier to work with and have a truer outcome. If you are unsure if the photos you have are suitable for the piece please send through what you have and I can happily advise.
